He’s originally from the middle of England, near Nottingham, but went off to do his degree in London in his early twenties and never really went back to his home town. He’s been teaching English since 1989 and is qualified with both the RSA Cambridge Certificate and Diploma in the teaching of English as a foreign language to adults. His career has taken him far and wide. He started teaching all those years ago in Madrid and then moved on to Zaragoza.
Over the years he has lived and taught in places as far afield as Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Saudi Arabia. He moved to Barcelona 15 years ago, loved most everything about the place and decided to base himself here, although he also goes off to teach for 2 months in Hong Kong every summer. So it’s been a wonderful and varied life so far. Since he’s been here he’s worked mainly for the British Council, ESADE and more recently for NELC. As well as teaching he’s also a speaking and writing examiner for the Cambridge English exams (First Certificate, CAE etc.) When he’s not working you might find him running marathons and other long distance races, or playing the Blues on his guitar and harmonica with one of a number of different groups in a bar somewhere in Barcelona.
