Anna grew up in South Wales, before moving to Brighton to study French and Italian at the University of Sussex.  A year abroad in Italy gave here the taste for a lifestyle with more activities outdoors and less rain!  She moved to Barcelona in 2003 to do a teacher training course, fell in love with the city and stayed.  During that time, she has also taught summer courses in France, Italy, Hong Kong and also lived for 3 months in Japan. In 2011, she completed an Official Masters in Applied Linguistics and Language Acquisition in Multilingual Contexts from the University of Barcelona.

In Barcelona, Anna has taught in a wide variety of settings, including young learner classes in schools and academies, university classes,  adult general and business English classes, in-company classes and one to ones.  She is also an experienced examiner and has given teacher training workshops and written materials for the British Council and educational publishers.  Anna joined the NELC team in 2008;  she loves helping students achieve their aims and being able to give them tools to improve their English.  Some areas that she is interested in include learner autonomy, interaction, critical thinking and using new technologies in and out of the classroom. Apart from speaking and teaching languages, Anna loves travelling, reading, swimming, yoga, meditation, ceramics and eating good food with good friends.
