Alicia has been teaching Spanish as a second language (ELE) for over 25 years. and is also a Catalan teacher for immigrants in several associations.  She combines her job as a teacher with the creation of educational materials at Editorial Difusión and for secondary education (ESO) at Planeta innovación.

She studied English Philology, majoring in Linguistics at Universitat de Barcelona (UB) and also did the first year of a PhD there, in the Teaching of Languages and Literature.

After spending some years teaching groups, face-to-face, in different language centres, she is now more focused on in-person and online classes for business.

Teaching a language is a job that gives her more satisfaction than any other job, especially as you can see the results directly. Her slogan is “teaching to learn”, making a student curious about a language and giving them the autonomy to keep learning on their own.

Her hobbies include going to the gym, going to the theatre and concerts and visiting all of the museums that Barcelona has to offer and it’s not easy to fit all of that in.  Her most original hobbies are inviting friends to her balcony to proudly show them her plants and talk about life and singing, rather badly, in a very original choir.
