Anna has been teaching now for twelve years, her journey in this field began in
Argentina, Córdoba Capital to be exact, a city nicknamed `La Doctora` and the
geographical heart of Argentina…
After finishing her Fine Arts Degree in England, specialising in short documentaries about people and places, she decided to go visit her younger
brother who was living in Chile and explore South America to see what creative outlets it would inspire.
Finding herself most at home with the number of creative people she met, she decided to stay and experience the infamous artist’s hand-to-mouth existence.
Though romantic, it couldn`t last long, so her friends encouraged her to teach English (while trying to sell paintings and paint street murals on the side).
She had no idea where to begin with this, so did what she did best and began to write stories for her students. Taking them on a ´journey´ around her homeland, she taught her students about the land and its culture, meanwhile teaching herself the basics of teaching.
Five years and about 150 stories later, she made the decision to return to Europe. She chose Barcelona for three simple reasons. It was close to the U.K, it was by the sea and it was a city made of art.
She has lived in Barcelona now for over eight years, where she became qualified as an ESL teacher and an Examiner for Cambridge. Her work timetable is a mixture of In-Company adults, Private classes in her
neighbourhood and content-creating and teaching to 9-12 years old through the arts. The diversity and humanity of teaching keep her inspired.
Expression through photography, film, painting, and illustration is on pause right now, but dancing classes fuel her evenings and the aforementioned stories are beginning to make their way back into her lessons, reminding her that she was supposed to make a book…
