John came to Barcelona in 1995 to teach English after graduating in Sociology at Northumbria University in Newcastle, UK. Before going to university, he worked in several different companies, and when he became a teacher he quickly realised that teaching English to professionals in companies was his thing. He has now taught in a wide range of companies in the Barcelona area, in many different business sectors including banking, pharmaceuticals and medical. He especially enjoys training professionals to give presentations and take part in conferences, as this gives him the chance to encourage students to explore their theatrical side, as well as developing their communication skills.
He has also worked as an actor and appeared in numerous TV commercials over the years as well as theatre. In his spare time (or what’s left of it!) he also runs an English creative writing group.
