Miriam spent her childhood as a nomad, changing house and country every couple of years, moving around places like Germany, Singapore and Yemen, with occasional periods in England. She went to Oxford University to study Modern Languages and on finishing she took a job teaching English in a small language school in Barcelona, despite speaking no Spanish and no Catalan at all. She landed in Barcelona in 1987 for 9 months and she is still here today. She went on to do her TEFL diploma and in 1991 moved to ESADE Executive Language Centre. When they closed that centre, she went freelance and currently combines teaching for NELC and lecturing at the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management of the Ramon Llull University.
