Roxanne, yes her name is like the song! Where is she from? She was born (some time ago) in Burma and went to school in Canada and then England; her parents are Scottish. So she doesn’t really know where she comes from. She studied English and Philosophy in Bristol University, then had her first experience of English teaching was in Lisbon. She got my Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language in 1986 in London. Shortly after, she moved to Barcelona, intending to stay for two years, but she fell in love with the place, so she’s still here. In 1991 she did a Master´s in Modernism and Literary Theory in Edinburgh University (not especially relevant to her job – but so interesting!) She’s taught English mainly in the University of Barcelona and ESADE and in various companies. She has a lot of experience of Cambridge Exams and English for Academic Purposes. Her interests? Reading, lunch with friends and travelling – especially around Asia; she’s been to India three times!
