Brian’s been teaching English since moving to Barcelona from Edinburgh over twenty years ago. Prior to that he was doing post-graduate research in politics, as well as tutoring undergraduates, at the Universities of Leicester and Edinburgh. However, since 1998 he’s been teaching Business English in Barcelona, primarily at International House for 16 years until its demise in the summer of 2020.
Although he still loves Barcelona, for the last 10 years he’s been living in a small town 40km down the coast. As you can imagine, it’s very different from life in the big city. It’s much quieter and is surrounded by vineyards.
He has three great loves in my life: Listening to jazz music from the 1950s and 60s; looking for strange and interesting local restaurants; and going for long walks in the country, which is when he finds many of the best restaurants.
