Alain has been a teacher for over 20 years and his vocation has always been teaching French and Humanities. After finishing his degree at the University of Brussels, he did his PhD at the Sorbonne in Paris. Then, he became a professor at Boston University and the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) before arriving in Barcelona, where he has been teaching full time at the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) and later, at the Universitat Ramon Llull (ESADE, HTSI, Blanquerna) which he combines with his job at NELC. He was co-coordinator of a postgraduate degree in the UB, and he has also published several books and articles.

He has been teaching French since over 13 years to people of all ages, from secondary to university students. In addition, he teaches general and specialized French (tourism and business), both in-person and online in several enterprises.

Alain spends most of his time teaching, organizing and preparing classes and he always tries to innovate with educational techniques, as he also is also a professor in an Education College.

In his free time, he loves walking and travelling, as well as taking photographs and playing chess.
