Claire has more than 30 years teaching experience. Her first teaching was in London and after a brief spell in Madrid she moved to Barcelona in the late 1980’s but like so many others before her she fell in love with the city and has been here ever since. Her first job was in ESADE – Executive Language Center, where she worked as a full time teacher, teaching all levels specializing in Business English and course design, she also held various positions of responsibility including Coordinator for the third year undergraduate English programme and teacher reviewer. In 2013, the closure of ESADE – Executive Language Center brought new opportunities and new challenges as Claire formed part of the original team which founded NELC- New Executive Language Centre. In NELC she divides her time between her responsibilities as Human Resources Manager and is able to continue with her passion which is teaching. She specializes in Business English (ADTLSP and Cert TEB), communication skills training, and helps with curriculum development, developing programmes for specific companies’ needs and is also a teacher trainer and has given various talks at conferences all over Europe. In her free time she enjoys her weekends in El Matarraña, Teruel birdwatching and studying wild flowers or just going out for a good meal and a good chat with friends.
